Wiki Loves Folklore Bangladesh 2025 is the national implementation of Wiki Loves Folklore 2025. Wiki Loves Folklore Bangladesh 2025 marked the second implementation of the event in the country, organized by Project korikath.
Wiki loves folklore is an international photographic competition to enjoy and celebrate cultural diversity from around the world through Wikimedia projects where everyone can participate.
The basic objective of the competition is to collect photos of human cultural diversity to illustrate articles in worldwide free encyclopedia Wikipedia and other Wikimedia Foundation projects. The photos provided must match the theme, including, but not limited to folk festivals, material culture, parties, weddings, traditions, dances, music, cuisine, clothing or daily life routine emphasizing on folk culture of Bangladesh.

- Champion: 20,000 BDT
- 1st Runner Up: 15,000 BDT
- 2nd Runner Up: 10,000 BDT
- 4th to 10th place each: 2,000 BDT

- Regional Runner-Up Award: 100 USD

Steps to participate
- Click on this link to participate!
- You’ll have to click on the blue “Upload” button on the first page.
- On the second page, you’ll have to select your media file from your local storage. Once the upload is successful, click next.
- The option named “This work was created by me and ...” will be selected as a default, keep it that way.
- Select “This work is entirely created by me” in the answer to the question, “Is this entirely your own work?”
- Select “Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike 4.0” as the license.
- On the next page, you’ll have to provide details that describes the media files the best. The first is title, provide a suitable title, for example, “Bauls singing in a village fair”
- Provide a few lines of description that elaborates the context of the media file.
- Select the date when you took this photo or recorded the video or audio.
- Click the blue “Publish Files” button. It will take a few moments to publish the file.
- And you’ve successfully submitted a media file for Wiki Loves Folklore 2024! Congratulations!
Submission Rules
Basic rules
- Participants can upload as many media files as they want until that is aligned to the scope of Wikimedia Commons.
- The media files need to be published under a Wikimedia Commons compatible license.
- The media files need to be in a Wikimedia Commons supported file types.
Judgement Criteria
The jury will judge individual entries/ the uploaded photos based on the following criteria (in no particular order):
- Technical quality
- Originality
- Potential usefulness and overall value of the image (including licensing) to the Wikimedia projects
