Mariea Amzad Sawda is a third-year law student at BRAC University, with an interest in leadership and community development. She actively volunteers with Peace Café, where she organizes events, recruits members, and builds partnerships. Her initiatives focus on menstrual health awareness, mental well-being, and supporting underprivileged women through different programs.
Mariea has worked on projects that promote leadership and peacebuilding among students. She collaborated with the MGI Group of Industries to install menstrual vending machines, improving access to essential hygiene products. She also facilitated mental health sessions as part of Moner Bondhu’s initiatives and contributed to creating platforms for underprivileged women to receive legal advocacy and empowerment. Although she is new to Wikimedia projects, Mariea is eager to contribute her skills to support open knowledge initiatives. She is committed to learning and using her experience in event management and community engagement to help expand access to knowledge.
